Entrepreneurship isn’t a one-size-fits-all path. For me, it started from a place of hardship, a low point in my life that became the very catalyst for change. Over the years, both my business and I have evolved, shifting in ways I couldn’t have anticipated at the start. And you know what? That’s okay. Life changes, and so can your business. In fact, I’ve come to embrace it.
Before you dive into the technical aspects of your business, you need to understand your why. For me, my business started as a desire to create a meaningful impact, and that purpose still guides me today. But over time, I’ve realized that it’s not just about serving others—it’s about creating a life and business that align with my own values. As my personal life changed, so did my professional journey. I needed more time freedom, which led me to focus on the parts of my work that brought me the most joy.
Risk is often seen as something to fear, but in reality, it’s what fuels growth. Entrepreneurship requires stepping outside of your comfort zone, whether it’s launching something new or making tough decisions that lead to more freedom. For me, that shift came when I transitioned my signature services at GRATI Consulting. I moved away from the traditional monthly retainer model—no more endless proposal writing or battling scope creep. Instead, I embraced VIP Days, offering 1:1 intensives for marketing strategy, social media, and website design.
This change wasn’t easy. It meant letting go of what I thought was “the way” to do business and stepping into something new. But it also gave me more time freedom, allowed me to focus on the aspects of my profession I truly loved, and eliminated the grind that was slowly draining me.
One thing I’ve learned along the way is that there’s no set formula for success. What works for someone else might not work for you, and that’s perfectly fine. Over time, I’ve learned to experiment, pivot, and allow my business to evolve with me. This flexibility has been essential—not just for the health of my business, but for my own well-being. I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to change things up, especially when the season of life you’re in calls for it.
The path to entrepreneurship isn’t always linear. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but it’s all part of the process. Success, for me, isn’t just about hitting milestones—it’s about embracing the journey, learning from the lows, and celebrating the highs. So, give yourself permission to evolve. Your business is an extension of you, and as you grow, so should it.
Your entrepreneurial journey is uniquely yours, and it’s okay to change, shift, and adapt as you go. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow, and that’s not only acceptable—it’s necessary. If you’re feeling the need to change, do it. Your business—and you—will be better for it.
