In honor of National Chamber of Commerce Day, we’ve collected responses from all of the Chambers we’ve featured in our Chamber Camaraderie series to share why you should join a Chamber of Commerce.
“I think the biggest reason for being part of the Chamber is the huge network. OSC is the second largest Chamber in Massachusetts so our network is strong. I actually ended up working for the Chamber because I frequently networked at their events at my former job. I met so many amazing people and forged what I hope will be lifelong friendships.” – Katie Greene, One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce
“Being a member of the Chamber has given me the opportunity to meet and connect with other business owners. These connections have led to an array of resources that have helped support and grow my business. As a member of the Chamber, I was able to participate in the QUEST Program and earn a Certificate in Streetwise “MBA’ through Interise. This program helped me evaluate my current business situation as well as develop both a three and five year business plan.” – Katie Raimondi, Quincy Chamber of Commerce
“Being a member of a Chamber of Commerce is vital for businesses and individuals because it fosters a strong, interconnected community. My role as the Director of Membership and Retention has shown me how the Chamber enables businesses to connect, share resources, and grow their networks. The Chamber provides businesses with tools and support to thrive through networking events and ambassador programs. The collective knowledge and expertise within the Chamber help businesses navigate challenges and celebrate successes together, making it an indispensable resource for anyone looking to be part of a dynamic, supportive community.” – Clifford Athouriste, One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce
“Being a member of the Chamber of Commerce connects you with invaluable resources, networking opportunities, and a collective voice that helps drive business success. It’s a great way to support local economies and foster collaboration.” – Alessandra Hagerty, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce
“Joining a Chamber of Commerce is an invaluable opportunity to build meaningful relationships and grow your network. A chamber serves as a hub for support, collaboration, promotion, and community engagement. I think it should be a part of your marketing strategy! It gives you the opportunity to build your personal brand along with generating awareness for your business. I’ll also say that we have a lot of fun and good food at the Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of MetroWest!” – Lara Zelman, Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce
“Being part of a Chamber of Commerce is like being woven into the fabric of a community. It’s about more than just business—it’s about support, connection, and shared growth. For me, the Chamber is where local businesses, big and small, come together to lift each other up. The Chamber creates opportunities, fosters collaboration, and ensures that we all succeed together. When you’re a member, you’re not just investing in your business—you’re investing in the community that surrounds and supports you.” – Erica Ashton, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce
“A chamber of commerce is its own unique ecosystem. Many people assume it’s a city department or state agency, but as an independent association, we’re ideally positioned to understand and support all the elements that contribute to a thriving community. Being a Chamber member is valuable because it connects businesses with vital resources, ensure someone is advocating for local economy, and makes it easier for businesses to tap into community-driven initiatives. If you want to build your brand or image, being an engaged chamber member is probably the quickest way to make that happen.” – Deanne Healey, Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce
“Relationships are at the heart of why being a member of the Chamber of Commerce is so important! Since joining, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with and collaborating alongside so many incredible people I might never have crossed paths with otherwise. These connections have been deeply rewarding, not just professionally, but personally as well. The Chamber creates a unique environment where you can build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together. I can’t recommend becoming an active member enough—it’s an investment in both your business and your community!” – Guy Tremblay, Sudbury Chamber of Commerce
“The more varied members we have, the more supportive we can be to one another. I was raised to support the independent stores, and the more we can do that, the more interesting and productive our worlds are! I just moved my business location and was thrilled to use Chamber members for carpet installation, painting and more!” – Cathy Regensburger, Sudbury Chamber of Commerce
“There is strength in numbers and it takes a village; your local chamber supports you and its members and the more members the stronger the chamber.” – Radu Luca, Provincetown Chamber of Commerce
“I believe everyone should join the Chamber of Commerce because it’s one of the most effective ways to grow your business and your community. It’s not just about networking — it’s about building real relationships, staying visible, and being part of something bigger than yourself.
The Chamber opens doors: to connections, collaborations, and resources you might not even know you need yet. Whether you’re a solopreneur, running a home-based business, managing a growing team, or part of a large, multi-employee company, the Chamber gives you a seat at the table and a team behind you.
Simply put, when local businesses support each other, everyone wins — and the Chamber is where that support starts.” – Marianne Cohen, Malden Chamber of Commerce
“Being part of the Chamber is about more than just business; it’s about being an active participant in the fabric of your community. For businesses and organizations, it offers invaluable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and growth. But beyond that, it’s about having a collective voice, advocating for the needs of our local economy, and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. It’s about building those essential relationships and contributing to something larger than ourselves. The Chamber provides a vital space for people to truly connect, to understand each other’s passions and challenges, and to build a network of support. It’s about being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are not only successful but deeply committed to our community. When you’re a part of the Chamber, you’re not just growing your business; you’re investing in a web of connections that strengthens our entire town. It’s about collaboration over competition, and seeing firsthand how building those authentic bonds can lead to incredible opportunities for everyone.” – Sheila Beach, Amesbury Chamber of Commerce
