Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do?
I am Suzanne Thelen, mom of 3 and the Founder of Divorce Squad. Divorce can be complicated, messy and confusing. Women without the right connections or access to information may be taken advantage of and end up with less than they deserve. Through Divorce Squad, you have access to professionals that can help you not only survive the divorce process, but thrive. Our Mission at Divorce Squad is to guide women through divorce so they can live the beautiful life they deserve in their next chapter.
What made you want to start your own business?
After going through a divorce that was overwhelming, I knew the process could be less stressful if a supportive group of professionals was easily accessible. I created Divorce Squad to serve that need. Divorce Squad connects divorcing women to professionals who can help navigate the divorce process, and beyond. These professionals include real estate agents, lenders, insurance professionals, financial advisors, CPAs, estate planners, coaches, tax professionals, health/wellness professionals, and divorce attorneys and mediators.
What do you love the most about owning a business in Massachusetts?
I love being able to support other divorcing women through the process so that they have a less overwhelming experience, and can move forward to their next chapter in life.
What are your favorite small businesses to support in Massachusetts?
Drinking coffee and reading are two of my favorite activities, and I love going to local coffee shops and bookstores!
What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
The best things are on the other side of the unknown. Every step I have taken as an entrepreneur has been something new I have to learn, and each of those steps helps build the confidence needed to take the next step thereafter.
If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?
I would love to write a book. I currently focus on writing articles for Divorce Squad, but will make time for authoring a book in the future.
When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?
I love reading, going for walks while listening to my favorite podcasts, and playing Pickleball!
