Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do at your Chamber of Commerce?
Hi! My name is Guy Tremblay, and I’m the owner of Kona Ice of Framingham/Natick. My team specializes in bringing freshly shaved ice, customizable flavors, and a fun, vibrant experience to events all around the MetroWest area. Whether it’s at a fundraiser, a corporate event, or a neighborhood block party, we love to help create memorable experiences for families, schools, and organizations.
At the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, my primary role as a board member is to welcome new members and work with retention of existing members. I’m proud to be an active member, working to connect with other local businesses, support community initiatives, and finding ways to give back and make our community even more amazing!
What made you want to work for the Chamber of Commerce?
As a 100% volunteer-driven chamber, there’s always a lot to accomplish, and it can sometimes feel like there aren’t enough hands to tackle it all. So when the chamber leadership invited me to join the board, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I saw it as a meaningful opportunity to contribute and help the chamber continue to grow and thrive. Our leadership team is brimming with incredible talent, and it’s been a privilege to collaborate with such dedicated individuals. Every meeting and project is an opportunity to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact on our community.
What do you love the most about the area where you live in Massachusetts?
One of the things I love most about the MetroWest area of Massachusetts is the incredible sense of community. People here are welcoming, supportive, and always ready to come together for a good cause or a fun event. The vibrant mix of family-friendly activities, local businesses, and cultural diversity creates a dynamic atmosphere that makes every day unique. Plus, the stunning New England scenery throughout the seasons—whether it’s the blossoms in spring, the summer greenery, or the fall foliage—provides the perfect backdrop for Kona Ice (our business) to bring smiles to the community.
Why do you think it’s important for everyone to be a member of a Chamber of Commerce?
Relationships are at the heart of why being a member of the Chamber of Commerce is so important! Since joining, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with and collaborating alongside so many incredible people I might never have crossed paths with otherwise. These connections have been deeply rewarding, not just professionally, but personally as well. The Chamber creates a unique environment where you can build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together. I can’t recommend becoming an active member enough—it’s an investment in both your business and your community!
What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned throughout my career is that people do business with those they know, like, and trust. Building that trust starts with forming genuine, meaningful relationships. The best way to create those connections is by being active and engaged in your community, and the Chamber of Commerce is the perfect platform for that. Through active participation, you not only meet people but also build lasting relationships that open doors to opportunities, collaboration, and mutual success. It’s a powerful reminder that relationships are the foundation of every successful business.
If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?
I’m already living my dream job! Being the owner of Kona Ice of Framingham/Natick allows me to spread joy and bring smiles to people’s faces every single day. What could possibly be better than creating fun, memorable experiences and making a positive impact in the community?
When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?
When I’m not working, I love spending quality time with family and friends. Whether it’s enjoying a meal together, embarking on new adventures, exploring the outdoors, or simply catching up and sharing laughs, these moments recharge me and remind me of what’s truly important. There’s nothing better than creating memories and discovering new experiences with the people I care about most.
