Karen Cahill has worked in the cranberry industry for 9 1/2 years and currently serves as deputy executive director at Massachusetts Cranberries. Established in 1881 as the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association, Massachusetts Cranberries supports and advocates for hundreds of cranberry growers in southeastern Massachusetts. Steeped in history and tradition, the commercial cranberry industry was born in Massachusetts in the early 1800s. Today, cranberries are the No. 1 food crop in the Commonwealth and the industry contributes 6,400 jobs and $1.7 billion annually to the state’s economy.
