Provincetown Zone7a Art Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception for Parallel Verse

June 28, 2024  |

Provincetown, MA – Parallel Verse is a two-person exhibition by Korean-born Provincetown artist MiYoung Sohn and Massachuettes-native Brooklyn photographer Michael Tessier. Their mutual connection to Cape Cod (and Brooklyn), brought them together to engage in conversation about their disciplines. From their initial meeting, they instantly gravitated towards each other’s work, arranging their pieces together resulting in this exhibition.

MiYoung’s series of daily collages were made from March 2023 to March 2024 in response to living on the tip of Cape Cod using commonly accessible materials such as paint, paper and glue. She looked inwardly for inspiration as she navigated between solitude and isolation.

Michael’s constructed spaces made from discarded materials such as paper, plastic, and fabric are photographed and manipulated to blur the space between image and form. Their two distinct bodies of work share commonalities in their intuitive process, material exploration and playful construction.

Parallel Verse consists of works on paper, photography, and sculpture. The exhibition opens on June 28 through July 10, 2024.

Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 28th from 6-9 pm at Zone7a Gallery and Books located at 437 Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA.
