Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Alissa Nowak, the owner of Lucky Green Ladies. We are a woman, LGBT+, social equity, and family-owned cannabis home delivery service. We are located in Norton and serve most of Bristol County + parts of Plymouth and Norfolk County. We pride ourselves on quality, discretion, speed, and value. You can consider us your dispensary on wheels!

What made you want to start your own business?

I was involved in the legacy market which refers to the sale of cannabis before it was recreationally legal, many still call it the “black market”. I was arrested in 2019 for selling. The arrest qualified me for Massachusetts’ Social Equity Program. The Social Equity Program provides technical assistance and training to help individuals, like me, open a legal cannabis business. I took the skills learned from the legacy market and the skills from the social equity program and opened Lucky Green Ladies, a legal cannabis home delivery service.

What do you love the most about owning a business in Massachusetts?

For the most part, I love how inclusive it is.

What are your favorite small businesses to support in Massachusetts?

In the cannabis industry, we love supporting Caroline’s Cannabis, Ideal Craft Cannabis, and Delivered Inc. Each one of them are social equity, small business owners.

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

Every mistake is a learning lesson.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?

Owning a retail dispensary.

When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?

Watching football while having an ice-cold beer.
