Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Gabriel. I’m the founder of Radiant Elephant, a boutique Web Design, SEO and Marketing Agency. I’m a 3rd generation entrepreneur, so I understand the importance of a business’s stability and health.
I’ve always been interested in understanding the how. The mechanics of things. After going to school for Marketing I found my footing as a copywriter for a small ad agency. Ads I wrote appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and many other prestigious publications. After years in various marketing positions and agency positions I decided to go out on my own and launch Radiant Elephant.
I specialize in High Conversion Web Design, SEO, and digital marketing with a focus on results and increased revenue over vanity metrics. My small team of experts function as an auxiliary marketing department for businesses looking to scale and optimize revenue.
While many marketing professionals focus on things like engagement rates and search traffic, I focus on increasing revenue for my clients. One recent Conversion Rate Optimization Audit and subsequent website redesign led to a 559% increase in on site conversions which led to a 400% increase in annual revenue for an E-commerce brand. I have many success stories like this of clients that have seen significant improvement in their sales.
My goal with every project is to generate a positive ROI as quickly as possible while having a great relationship with every client. I still have my very first client from when I started over 10 years ago, and I have a 98.5% client retention rate. Our clients don’t leave because of how hard my team and I work to generate meaningful results.
What made you want to start your business?
After a few years working in various capacities in agencies I grew disillusioned with the traditional marketing agency model. I saw clients being promised and charged for work that never got done, I saw a churn and burn mentality that put the agencies profit above the clients success, and I saw a predatory mentality that left many clients worse for wear.
I had enough, so I started my own agency that put clients first and that functions as part of the team. I founded Radiant Elephant on the tenant of transparency, authenticity and results.
What do you love the most about owning a business in Massachusetts?
I moved to Western Massachusetts a few years ago from Asbury Park, NJ. But much of my family originally came from Massachusetts. I love the people up here. All of the business owners I meet are very smart and have good business savvy. This is ideal because the clients that I tend to work with are intelligent, knowledgeable and passionate which is very common here.
What are your favorite small businesses to support in Massachusetts?
I really love supporting small businesses, especially ones that are minority owned. I also really love supporting new small businesses because I know how hard it is when you first start so I like to offer as much support as I can so that every small business owner can find success and live their entrepreneurial dream.
What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
There have been so many. Being a business owner means learning a lot of lessons. The biggest lesson I’ve learned in my career is that customer service and experience is very important. When I was in college I waited tables for years. I knew that being on top of things was important, but over the years I realized that it was much more than that. The key to success is offering an experience. I carried this lesson into everything I do as a business owner. Customer experience is everything.
If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?
I love what I do, the only other things I would enjoy as much or more is being a professional composer and musician. I have been a musician and artist my entire life. I spent years as the drummer and manager of an award winning Jazz/Funk band. I am also a composer of instrumental music. While I do still write and play, doing it professionally would be pretty awesome.
When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?
When I’m not working I enjoy playing and writing music, spending time with my dog, reading, making art, and traveling. I also love going to museums and art galleries. I find the more artistic pursuits I dive into the more inspiration I find in my work.
