Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do?

Hi! I’m a marketing and PR expert celebrating my 25th year in business. I help companies and nonprofits increase sales and gain visibility through no cost and low-cost marketing and PR strategies. I also am an advocate for the Massachusetts Express Grant program — where companies and nonprofits -can get marketing and PR help and training — all paid by the government. Most organizations qualify if they have W2 employees — even part-time, minimum wage. It’s an amazing program not many small businesses know about.

What made you want to start your business?

Both parents were entrepreneurs, so at an early age — it only seemed natural to go into business for myself. I was always promoting and selling something! And later went to Boston University College of Communication to learn the Art of Marketing and PR.

What do you love the most about owning a business in Massachusetts?

I love the flexibility of owning a business and helping people who want to grow their business or nonprofit, especially when I know they don’t have to break the bank. They just need to know the right strategies to use. I also love the Massachusetts Express Grants program. It’s an amazing opportunity to work with experts in so many areas — and get 100% reimbursement — what a win-win!

What are your favorite small businesses to support in Massachusetts?

I always like to support small business owners who are helping others. Doing good work in the community.

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

Stop second and third guessing yourself! Go for it! What’s the worst that can happen?

If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?

It’s kind of related — helping young women empower themselves.

When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?

Traveling, hiking, reading, spending time with family, and island hopping.
