Introduce yourself! Who are you and what do you do at your Chamber of Commerce?

I’m Judy Lindahl, Executive Director of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce. I work closely with our members to help them grow their businesses, increase visibility, and stay connected to everything happening in our community. From events and marketing opportunities to advocacy and support, my role is really about making sure our members feel seen, supported, and successful.

What made you want to work for the Chamber of Commerce?

I’ve always loved nonprofit work and felt I could bring my experience to the Chamber in a meaningful way. Supporting the business community while helping strengthen Orleans made it feel like a natural fit.

What do you love the most about the area where you live in Massachusetts?

There’s something really special about the sense of community on Cape Cod. In Orleans, especially, you have an incredible mix of natural beauty, local pride, and hardworking small-business owners who truly care about what they do. It’s a place where people show up for each other, and that makes all the difference.

Why do you think it’s important for everyone to be a member of a Chamber of Commerce?

Being part of a Chamber isn’t just about marketing—it’s about being part of something bigger. It gives businesses a voice, access to resources, and a network of support. When businesses come together, the entire community benefits. The Chamber helps create that connection and momentum.

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

The biggest lesson has been the importance of relationships. Business is built on trust, communication, and showing up consistently. When you focus on people first, everything else tends to follow.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would your next dream job be?

After 25 years in the marine industry, this is my dream job. It brings together everything I’ve learned along the way—working with people, supporting local businesses, and being part of a community I care deeply about. I’m exactly where I want to be.

When you’re not working, what activities do you enjoy?

I love spending time with family and friends—that’s my happy place. Whether we’re out and about or just together, that’s what I enjoy most.
