EP 166 with Cory & Elizabeth Staples from January 1, 2026
Cory and Elizabeth Staples are the passionate owners of The Good Dog Spot, a premier pet care company with locations in Chicopee and Northampton, Massachusetts. Founded by Elizabeth in 2007, the business has flourished under their combined leadership, growing to a team of over 40 employees and offering expert grooming, daycare, and boarding services.
Elizabeth’s lifelong love for animals inspired her to create a facility where safety, compassion, and excellence are the standard. In 2013, Cory joined full-time, bringing strengths in leadership and business development that helped expand the brand and solidify its reputation as a leader in pet care across the Pioneer Valley.
Both Cory and Elizabeth are Certified Professional Animal Care Operators (CPACO) through the Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC), Fear Free Certified, and proud members of the International Boarding and Pet Services Association (IBPSA). Their commitment to ongoing education and industry best practices ensures every pet receives exceptional, safe, and enriching care.
At home, the Staples family includes their three children, ages 11, 9, and 7, and what they affectionately call their “small zoo,” featuring birds, turtles, fish, hamsters, and North, their beloved special-needs American Staffordshire Terrier with epilepsy.
Driven by values of consistency, passion, and integrity, Cory and Elizabeth have built The Good Dog Spot into a trusted name in pet care, on a mission to be the most reliable and respected pet care provider in the Pioneer Valley.
