Neil S. Cohen, Esquire is President and Managing Attorney of Barsh and Cohen, P.C. for the last 11 years and has been with the firm for nearly 25 years. As a longtime Real Estate Attorney with knowledge of titles, title abstracts, title insurance and commercial loan documentation, foreclosure, and Creditor Bankruptcy, Attorney Cohen has seen the law and technology evolve into one of the most critical components to ensure a reliable and scalable law firm built to service his clients in the financial world (banks, credit unions, loan servicers and hedge funds for lending).

He has worked in many different facets of the Real Estate Transaction/Legal world – from buyer and seller-side legal representation to title abstract and title insurance policies, commercial loan closing documentation, and legal and education, to name a few. With his years of service in these specific fields, Attorney Cohen has become an invaluable resource to his clients in these fields. Barsh and Cohen, P.C. primarily works with businesses in the financial, real estate, and transactional legal space. He and his team provide strategic and cost-effective legal representation for each business line.

Neil values his dedication to service and philanthropy and makes this part of the core values of his firm and family. He was a long-time Trustee at the Phoenix Charter Academy, a public charter school whose model provides high-risk youth with a second chance for a high school diploma and college success, A former member of the Men’s Associates at Hebrew Senior Life, which is the only geriatric care organization affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and at the start of 2024 has been named to the Board of Directors for Haymakers for Hope, a charitable organization that has been empowering ordinary people rise to a competitive challenge (amateur boxing), while raising funds for cancer research, care, awareness and survivorship. Neil was also a participant in the 2021 event and is currently all time individual participating fundraiser in the Boston Rock n Rumble series.

Before his work with Barsh and Cohen, Neil was a licensed auctioneer and the marketing director in the Real Estate division of the Paul E. Saperstein Company. While there, he helped design and implement their first real estate auction website.

A Massachusetts native, he completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Rollins College, Winter Park FL, while participating in four years of Men’s Varsity Soccer at the NCAA Division II Level. He then attended Suffolk University Law School in the Night School Program while earning his JD in 2002.

He is a Massachusetts Licensed Auctioneer, Real Estate Broker, Notary Public in Massachusetts, a Commissioner of Deeds in New Hampshire, and has Title Insurance licenses in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. He currently serves as Corporate Counsel of the New England Adjustment Managers Association (NEAMA) and was on the Board of Directors of Canton Youth Soccer. He currently resides in Canton, MA with his wife and three children.
