Episode 208: Jason Ross

EP 208 with Jason Ross from October 22, 2026

Jason Ross is the founder of Hockomock Digital, a Massachusetts-based political consulting and digital strategy firm that helps candidates and organizations communicate effectively, reach voters, and win competitive campaigns. He built the company from the ground up and has grown it into a nationally recognized firm serving clients across Massachusetts, throughout the United States, and internationally.

Jason’s experience includes campaign management, digital advertising, fundraising, public relations, website development, and voter outreach. He has worked on campaigns at every level of government and specializes in helping candidates compete effectively, even when facing better-funded opponents.

In 2025, Jason was selected to participate in the prestigious Manfred Wörner Seminar, an international leadership program that brings together emerging leaders from the United States and Europe to examine transatlantic relations and international security. The experience included meetings with political, diplomatic, and military leaders in Germany and at NATO headquarters in Belgium.

Jason’s writing on politics and international affairs has appeared in The Washington Post, Boston Herald, The Phnom Penh Post, Contexto Honduras, and La Prensa Panamá. He is a graduate of Bridgewater State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at UMass Lowell.

During this episode, we discuss:

  • Jason’s path to founding Hockomock Digital, a political consulting and digital strategy firm
  • Why campaign strategies change dramatically from cycle to cycle, and how adapting quickly can make or break a race
  • The gap Jason identified in the market: accessible, local political consulting for candidates who can’t afford $10,000-a-month national firms
  • Why Jason maintains exclusivity and avoids working with competing candidates in the same race
  • The full range of services Hockomock Digital offers, from data management and graphic design to debate prep and trusted vendor partnerships
  • How low-cost tools like Facebook ads and streaming advertising have changed what’s possible for campaigns compared to just a decade ago
  • Jason’s approach to AI
  • The real value of lawn signs, even though their ROI can’t be directly tracked
  • Jason’s advice for those pursuing a career in political consulting
