South Shore Young Professionals Opens Applications for Its 2023 Foundation Grant

South Shore Young Professionals (SSYP) is a local organization whose mission is to serve as the leading resource for the personal and professional development of the individual by means of community involvement, networking, and education.

In 2012, SSYP established its Foundation Grant to help develop and support businesses on the South Shore. Through this grant, their goal is to support entrepreneurship and economic growth on the South Shore by building a grant program designed to help start-up businesses succeed. This program fosters new ideas and innovation and to bring economic development to the South Shore.

There are vast numbers of young professionals in Southeastern, MA, yet an underwhelming amount of young businesses and start-ups forming in the area. This grant is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation through financial assistance, mentorship, and support.

South Shore Young Professionals’ 2023 Foundation Grant

SSYP recently opened applications for its 2023 Foundation Grant, and the application period is open until Saturday, September 30, 2023. There will be one grand prize winner who will receive the $7,500 grant.

Eligibility for the grant includes:

  1. Entrant/owner must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry;
  2. The business must be currently active, lawful, have all necessary and required licenses and registrations;
  3. Entrant/owner must be an authorized agent of the registered business;
  4. The business must be in good standing as of the date of entry and must remain so through the end of the Grant;
  5. The business must have between 1-99 employees on its payroll;
  6. The business must not in any way be affiliated with a franchised or direct seller business;
  7. The primary purpose of the business must not be in competition with the South Shore Young Professionals or any South Shore Young Professionals affiliates;
  8. The business must not be under bankruptcy protection or have judicial liens or attachments; and
  9. The business must have annual revenues of less than $1,000,000 as demonstrated by tax returns or other means acceptable to Sponsor.
